When a person enters a search term, these companies bid for those search terms. When the ads and videos start to load on the page, the person can click on one of them and visit the advertiser’s website.


PPC advertising can be described as a method of rewarding consumers for completing a particular action. They are often contrasted with display ads, which are advertisements that are placed on search engine results pages and paid for by advertisers.

Uses of search engine marketing in PPC

PPC advertising sometimes referred to as pay-per-click advertising, refers to the practice of using paid advertising to direct online traffic to a website.


This is usually in the form of paid ads on search engines or paid ads on social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
